How to prep your Furniture before Chalk Based Painting

by | Oct 24, 2020 | Dressers and Desks, How to use our Chalk Based Paint, How to use wax?, Steps to use our Chalk Based Paints, Tips | 0 comments

Bénédicte, from La belle commode, shows us today how to properly pre your furniture with Colorantic products. The key to the success and sustainability of your work lies in the preparation for it. It is therefore essential to follow all of the recommended steps before starting to apply the chalk paint.

Remove the handles if necessary.

Sand very lightly with the sanding block in the direction of the grain of the wood, only to scratch the surface.

Spray on the polish remover and cleaner (which is also used for wax). Let the cleaner act according to the degree of dirt and wipe with a cloth to remove the residue deposited over time.

Wipe with a damp cloth to make sure the furniture has no residue.

You are therefore ready to paint your furniture, which, with its new look, will embellish your decor.
